A present for Jesus

Yellow Bird had become a Christian but was scared of being baptized. For some reason it just terrified her. It seemed out of character for her because she is such a take charge kind of child (see her tackling her Daddy). We told her that when she was ready she could do it and to pray about it and let us know. We were sitting in the Christmas Eve service, which was on a Saturday that year, and Yellow Bird leaned over and told me that she wanted to be baptized on Christmas Day. I asked her why she thought she was ready and she told me that it was her present to Jesus, herself. Isn't that all He ask of us. She bravely walked into the baptistery and her Daddy baptized her the next day, Christmas Day, and she gave Jesus herself as a present to Him. Happy Birthday Jesus!
